The Importance of Physical Activity

How to make Exercise work for you!

The importance of physical activity and fitness goes beyond the need to loose weight. Exercise is necessary to all of your body parts to maintain strength and endurance. Your body needs to move, stretch and work to keep your blood flowing and the toxins moving out. Sweating is good for you! Muscles need to be kept strong, flexible and pliable. To understand the importance of physical activity you need to know that it can reduce stress and tension, relieve stiff joints, provide better body ailment, balance our body and minds, improve our immune systems and overall refine our health . Our ancestors got plenty of physical activity doing their daily chores, but in our modern times our jobs are fairly sedentary. I know firsthand that there’s never enough time in the day and finding time to exercise doesn’t always make our top list of priorities. I personally hate to work-out but I’ve found ways to keep fit without making it such a job. The key is to make it fun and do things you love doing and make you feel great.

Here are some ideas to make the importance of physical activity work for you.

Use a Rebounder! This is one of the best exercises to stimulate every cell, organ and gland in you body simultaneously. Rebounding tones your muscles, tendons and ligaments. You can do this for as little as 10 minutes a day to reap great rewards.

Walk, Walk, WALK! American’s walk less than any other civilization. When I was in Europe I was amazed at the ratio of people walking to the number of cars on the road. The walking lanes were always way busier and larger than roadways. You don't see very many fat people in Europe either. Walking stimulates the lymphatic system, reduces stress, strengthens muscles and promotes a lean body. Start with short walks and gradually increase your distance everyday.

YOGA! I can’t recommend this enough. Yoga is fun and easy to do and provides countless benefits. Here are just a few..
improves… sleep, posture, balance, flexibility, energy, bowel functions, cardiovascular system, dexterity skills, reaction time, eye-hand coordination
increases… immunity, muscular strength, endurance, efficiency, range of motion
decreases… pain, pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure
normalizes weight and gastrointestinal functions

Go Swimming. Swimming works your whole body, improving cardiovascular conditioning, muscle strength, endurance, posture, and flexibility all at the same time. For the best results, swim in un-polluted water without chlorine or other harsh chemicals. Lakes and oceans are best.
